A group of young men buy cars costing £500 or less, and then take them on a trip around Europe to raise money for charity. They pass through eight countries in eight days, encountering along the way suspicious locals, famous landmarks, mechanical problems and strange food. Even as they complete all of the requisite steps of a British lads' trip to the continent they are unconsciously imitating the tradition of the Grand Tour, a form of cultural adventure meant to enrich the mind and help wealthy young men to to understand their position in the world.
